Robert Redford will co-star with Jennifer Lopez in the new movie "An Unfinished Life."

The film, produced by Miramax and Revolution Studios, will be directed by Lasse Hallstrom. Hallstrom's credits include "Chocolat," "The Shipping News," "The Cider House Rules," and "What's Eating Gilbert Grape."

Revolution Studios was also the company behind Lopez's recent "Maid in Manhattan," which Hallstrom also produced.

The production is scheduled to begin in April.

"An Unfinished Life" is about a down-on-her luck woman (Lopez) who is desperate to care for her daughter. She is forced to move in with her father in-law (Redford). The two have been estranged, but through time, they learn to forgive each other and heal their wounds.

Lopez has reportedly also been in talks to star in a remake of "A Star Is Born."
