Where To Spend A Safe Halloween

Dracula, witches and zombies are just some of the characters that are going to be on the loose tonight. If you are a little concerned about where to send your kids this evening, we have a list of some of the different groups around town that are putting on alternative Halloween events.

Kern County Museum's "Safe Halloween"

The museum hosts its 25th annual "Safe Halloween" tonight from 5:30 - 9 p.m. There will be over 30 trick-or-treat stations, a petting zoo, food and beverages, costume contests and a whole list of other contests. Tickets can be purchased through the Kern Schools Federal Credit Union Branches, and online through vallitix.com

Harvest Fest 2008 Calvary Chapel Westbrook

6501 Schirra Ct. (One block south of Ashe Road and White Lane) From 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.

There will be:
  • Deep Pit Sandwiches

  • Candy
  • Music
  • Carnival

Stop The Violence 5th Annual - Safe Night

Located 708 Cottonwood Road at the parking lot of Union Baptist Church.

There will be games, candy and fun. The event starts at 6 p.m. and goes until 8 p.m.

Family Fun Night at Olive Drive Church - 5500 Olive Dr. (Admission $2) - 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

On site will be:

  • Bakersfield Brigade
  • Professional race car drivers ane their cars

Harvest Celebration at Celebration Church of the Northwest - 10011 Rosedale Highway

6 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Harvest Festival at Crossover Church of Rosedale - located 18210 Rosedale Highway

  • 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Heritage Academy - Trunk or Treat - 2401 Bernard St. - 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
